Manufacturing Risk Solutions

In the early 1990’s, the Workers Compensation environment in Rhode Island was terrible. Most manufacturers were forced into the assigned risk pool because no insurance carriers would voluntarily write the required coverage.

Starkweather was at the forefront of the Self Insured Group (SIG) creation, specifically for the various manufacturing groups.  SIMA (Self Insured Manufacturers Association), JIRMA (Jewelry Industry Risk Management Association), BIRMA (Business & Industry Risk Management Association), and RINHG (Rhode Island Nursing Home Group) all were created and/or serviced by Starkweather.

In fact, RINHG is still a growing, thriving self-insured program for the best nursing homes in RI.  At the same time, we have significantly invested in our Group Captive initiative to support manufacturers looking for cost effective risk transferring tools, when applicable and appropriate.
