In 1879, James Starkweather, a manufacturer, and George Shepley, an insurance man opened an agency that changed the way people in Rhode Island would think about insurance. Today, Starkweather & Shepley is still re-defining the definition of excellent customer service and what insureds should expect from their insurance broker. As one of the 100 largest U.S. brokers, we still manage the insurance needs of local individuals and companies.
For more than 140 years, Starkweather & Shepley has offered clients a broad range of insurance products and services. Today, our clients span the country and extend around the world.
